FANDOM


These commands work in the PC version only. They serve a variety of purposes and may be used to cheat (see Cheats), get you out of a buggy situation, or to give you more control over the game (see Tips). To open the console, press tilde (~). Then type the command you want, the parameters if any, and press enter. For console commands that require you to "select" an NPC, left-click the NPC on the screen while the console is active.


    • Note that some commands require that you set a value i.e.: the resethealth commmand should be written as follows player.resethealth

Notable CommandsEdit

  • Save <filename> - saves your game with a custom name
  • ShowClassMenu - change your class (warning: will reset up your skill levels)
  • ShowRaceMenu - change your name/race/appearance Changing your race WILL normally reset your stats, unless you follow the following steps:
    1. Save your game first, in case things get messed up.
    2. Open the race menu
    3. Make the desired changes
    4. And this is the important part: Press escape, which may or may not show the Save option available. If it does, save the game, then load it with your changes in place, stats unaffected. However, should Save be grayed out, toggle the console on and off, and attempt it again. It will allow you to save, and then load the game, changes in place.
  • ShowBirthsignMenu - change your birth sign
  • ToggleDebugText (tdt) - show FPS and other debug information; enter it again to turn it off
  • ToggleCollision (tcl) - removes/enables clipping, allowing you to fly through walls
  • player.CenterOnCell <locationID> (coc) - teleports you to a location
  • player.AddItem <itemID> <quantity> - adds an item to your inventory
  • player.Addspell <spellID>
  • player.removeitem <itemID> <quantity> - remove an item from your inventory
  • player.RemoveSpell <spellID> - delete a spell. spellIDs for your character will be saved in Oblivion/LevelUpData_1.txt when you level up
  • player.SetStage <QuestID> <Stage> - Sets a Quest. You can complete or add a quest, or a quest stage.
  • player.placeatme <NPC ID> <quantity> - Spawns selected NPC (non playable character)near your position. WARNING- Spawning too many characters will slow down to crashing your system, summon at your own risk!

  • Player.PayFine - Removes your current bounty as well as some gold and any stolen items you may have in your posession (They will be relocated to the evidence chest in the nearest city). This is essentially the same as surrendering to a guard and choosing to pay your fine, except that it will work even if you do not have enough gold to pay your fine otherwise. The game will 'attempt' to pay off your fine in full, but if you do not have enough gold, it may or may not remove all that you have. Regardless of the amount of gold in your posession, your bounty will be removed.
  • tm - Toggle Menus (HUD). Removes the menus and HUD (compass, health, etc). Great for screenshots, especially when combined with ToggleCollision.

  • CenterOnWorld (cow) - [COW worldname -10 5]
  • Coc Center - Resets world's coordinates. After initiation, fast travel to any location.
  • coc testinghall - Find all weapons, armor etc. in the game. Be warned the testing hall also contains all monsters and may crash your computer, as well as you may completly mess up the main storyline with items you cannot drop. (To leave, enter in 'coc toddtest', go outside the house, and fast travel as desired. You may also enter 'EnableFast')
  • coc toddtest - House/Forest filled with various test items such as the "Test Crate", and a man named Alban that you can tell to change emotions.
  • ClearAdaptedLight (cal) - Clears the HDR adapted light texture

  • CompleteAllQuestStages (caqs) - Sets all quest stages
  • Createfullactorcopy - Copies a selected actor or creature
  • DumpTexturePalette (dtp) - Dump texture palette contents to warning file
  • EnableFast - EnableFastTravel
  • Flush - Deletes all the actors in High who are not persistant
  • ForceWeather (fw) - Forces the active weather to the specified type, without transition.
  • FreezeRenderAccumulation (fra) - only re-render geometry visible during this frame

  • GetLevel - Displays the level of the selected NPC
  • Help - Shows some basic console commands in the console (press "Page Up" and "Page Down" on your keyboard to view all the codes that show up)
  • Kill - Kills the selected target (makes unconscious if quest-critical)
  • KillAllActors (killall) - Kills all enemies on screen (makes unonscious to those if quest-critical)
  • LoadGame <filename> - Loads a game
  • ModDisposition <npcID> <number> - Modifies NPC disposition
  • ModPCA <attribute> <number> - advances a player attribute by the specified number of points
  • ModPCS <skill> <number> - advances a player skill by the specified number of points
  • ModScale - Modify the scale of an object
  • ModWaterShader (mws) - Modifies water shader settings
  • MoveToQuestTarget (movetoqt) - Move player to current quest target (optional param: target number).
  • OutputArchiveProfile (oap) - Output Archive profile info to a file
  • OutputLocalMapPictures (olmp) - Writes out the current local map
  • OutputMemContexts (omc) - Output Mem Context info to a file
  • OutputMemStats (oms) - Output Mem Stats info to a file
  • PayFine - Pays off any bounty on the selected target. IE: Player.PayFine, or 'Target' .PayFine
  • PickRefByID (prid) - Select a reference by id for the console.
  • PlayBink - Plays Bink movie file
  • PlayerSpellBook (psb) - Add all spells to player.
